Dani Halton has assisted in the development of more than 4,000 permanent housing opportunities throughout Southern California and New Mexico. Halton’s career includes multiple roles with the San Diego Housing Commission, where she worked to allocate local and federal dollars to over 800 units of affordable housing and played an integral role in designing Housing First – San Diego, a $79.7 million-dollar action plan to create permanent housing solutions in San Diego. In her current role as a Project Manager for Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation, she oversees the development of affordable and permanent supportive housing communities from the earliest stages of pre-development through completion. Prior to joining the Wakeland team, Halton worked as a Development Associate at Chelsea Investment Corporation, where she was responsible for managing the design and financing of affordable housing projects. During her time with Chelsea, she worked on the financing and programming for two of the largest mixed-income permanent supportive housing projects in the City of San Diego. Halton holds a B.S in Social Studies from Elmira College and a master’s degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University.
